Gulf nations condemn Houthi drone attack on Madinah Power Station
Gulf states have strongly condemned a drone attack reportedly carried out by Houthis on a power distribution station in Saudi Arabia, which supplies electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
According to The Cable, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait issued separate statements denouncing the Tuesday strike. The UAE described it as a “flagrant violation” of Saudi sovereignty, while Bahrain urged the UN Security Council to take firm action. Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, stated the attacks were a deliberate attempt to provoke millions of Muslims worldwide.
Conversely, a Houthi military source dismissed the allegation via the Saba news agency as a “lie,” claiming it masks Saudi failure regarding prior Makkah accusations. The incident follows a surge in renewed cross-border hostilities.
