Arsenal star Christos Tzolis sent home after injury and Greece disagreement
Arsenal winger Christos Tzolis will return to north London after suffering an injury while on international duty with Greece. According to Football London, Tzolis was substituted after just 18 minutes during Greece’s Nations League meeting with the Netherlands after appearing to suffer a hamstring problem.
Greece head coach Ivan Jovanovic revealed the Arsenal forward initially resisted coming off despite being instructed to leave the pitch. Jovanovic said he suspected Tzolis had felt something and ultimately made the decision himself. The 23-year-old’s early departure now leaves Arsenal waiting for further assessment to determine the seriousness of the injury.
