Sir Alex Ferguson opens up on frightening recovery from brain haemorrhage
Sir Alex Ferguson has opened up about the difficult recovery he endured after suffering a brain haemorrhage in 2018. According to Punch, the former Manchester United manager recalled losing his voice and struggling to speak following emergency surgery.
Ferguson, then 76, said the experience was frightening, while a therapist helped him gradually regain his speech through exercises involving writing down names of animals, birds and rivers.
He returned to Old Trafford four months after the haemorrhage and received a standing ovation from supporters. Now approaching his 85th birthday, Ferguson says he is feeling well and has reflected on his career in his new book.
