Two killed, four injured in Osun cult clash
Two people were confirmed dead and four others injured on Friday after clashes involving suspected rival cult groups in Osogbo, Osun State, Punch reports.
The attack occurred at a lounge in Owoeba, a community along the Osogbo/Ilesa Road, when unidentified assailants stormed the venue around 5pm.
A resident said the victims were drinking when the attackers arrived, with one man killed instantly after being struck on the head and another shot dead during the ensuing fight. One of the deceased was identified only as “Small Rugged.”
Osun State Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi confirmed the killings, stating that four others sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
He added that Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Zungura had directed tactical teams to the area to track down those responsible for the attack.
As of Friday evening, no arrests had been made, and the police said investigations into the killings were ongoing.
