Mancini hails Donnarumma as ‘Best Goalkeeper in the world’ after France draw
Italy manager Roberto Mancini has hailed Gianluigi Donnarumma as the “best goalkeeper in the world” after the Paris Saint-Germain star helped the Azzurri secure a thrilling 1-1 draw with France. Mancini admitted Italy struggled during the opening 20 minutes but praised his players for responding collectively and limiting France’s attacking threat.
According to GOAL, the former Manchester City manager singled out Donnarumma for producing crucial saves when Italy needed him most, saying the goalkeeper “rescued us when it mattered.” Mancini also believes Italy can develop into an excellent national team, although he acknowledged that the rebuilding process will require patience.
