The naira depreciated slightly against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Friday, October 2, 2026, trading at N1,330.0965 per dollar.

According to Tribune, data published by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira traded at an NFEM rate of N1,330.0965 per dollar before closing at N1,332.0000. The currency had traded at N1,329.1600 on September 30, representing a depreciation of about N0.94.

At the parallel market, the naira also recorded declines in both buying and selling rates compared with the previous trading session on Wednesday.

According to Aboki FX, the currency traded at N1,365 per dollar for buying and N1,375 for selling on Friday.

The parallel-market buying rate fell by N10, while the selling rate declined by N5 compared with the rates recorded on September 30.

The latest movement came amid continued fluctuations in Nigeria’s foreign exchange market, with the gap between official and parallel-market rates remaining noticeable.

The CBN’s published data continues to provide the benchmark for official naira-dollar transactions.
