Pep Guardiola considers Manchester City return after club’s financial verdict
Pep Guardiola is reportedly considering returning to the Etihad Stadium to support Manchester City following the club’s guilty verdict over alleged Premier League financial breaches, according to City Xtra.
The former City manager has reportedly told figures at the club that he “wants to be with his people” as City appeal the independent commission’s ruling. The club confirmed its appeal on Thursday, describing the verdict as containing “clear material errors” and insisting it has comprehensive evidence supporting its position.
Guardiola had already publicly backed City, declaring: “I am here; more than ever.” City’s next home Premier League fixture is against newly promoted Ipswich Town on October 17, although it remains unclear whether Guardiola intends to attend that match or their Champions League meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.
