Konsa and Scott return to clubs as England’s injury list reaches eight
England have been dealt a fresh double injury blow after defender Ezri Konsa and midfielder Alex Scott were ruled out of the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixture against the Czech Republic at Wembley.
Both players featured from the start in Saturday’s commanding 7-0 victory over Croatia, but they will play no further part as the international window reaches its conclusion. The Football Association confirmed that both Konsa and Scott have returned to their respective club sides—Arsenal and AFC Bournemouth—for full medical evaluation and treatment.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel will not call up replacements, leaving Three Lions management with a reduced 22-man roster to prepare for Tuesday’s match. Reports indicate that Scott suffered a quadriceps injury during his full senior debut, raising concerns over a potential multi-week layoff.
The latest departures worsen an already severe attrition rate for England during the fortnight. The camp began with five initial withdrawals—including Declan Rice, Cole Palmer, and Marcus Rashford—and the total number of player dropouts across the window now stands at eight.
