Samuele Inacio can still choose Brazil despite Italy appearance
Borussia Dortmund teenager Samuele Inacio remains eligible to represent Brazil despite his involvement with Italy’s senior team, according to Football Italia. The 18-year-old, who holds Italian and Brazilian citizenship, is included in Italy’s squad for their Nations League meeting with Turkiye. Inacio previously made his senior debut against Luxembourg in June, but that friendly did not tie him to Italy.
Under FIFA’s eligibility rules, players can change national teams if they meet specific conditions, including limits on competitive appearances before turning 21. Should Inacio feature against Turkiye, he would make his first competitive senior appearance for Italy. That would move him closer to committing to the Azzurri, but Brazil could remain an option if he satisfies FIFA’s requirements.
