33-year-old caught allegedly sitting FCTA promotion exam for father
A 33-year-old man, Monsuru Musa, has been arrested for allegedly taking a Federal Capital Territory Administration promotion examination on behalf of his father.
According to SaharaReporters, Monsuru was caught on Wednesday during the examination organised by the FCT Civil Service Commission at the National Open University of Nigeria.
His father, Musa Mohammed, is an employee of the FCT Fire Service.
During questioning, Monsuru allegedly admitted he was not the registered candidate, claiming his father sent him because he was ill.
“Because of your health, you asked him to come and take the exam for you?” an interrogator asked.
“Yes,” Mohammed replied.
Authorities said Mohammed also acknowledged knowing his son was taking the examination on his behalf.
Both men were subsequently taken into custody and handed over to police after making statements to Department of State Services operatives.
Police are expected to investigate the alleged impersonation and determine whether disciplinary or criminal action will follow.
