Arsenal hand Emerson Nwaneri, Charlie Purdy first-team training opportunity
Arsenal have handed academy prospects Emerson Nwaneri and Charlie Purdy an opportunity to train with the first team ahead of Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Leeds United. According to Jeorge Bird’s Arsenal Youth, fellow youngster Ife Ibrahim also participated in Thursday’s session, alongside Max Dowman and Marli Salmon.
Dowman returned to training after leaving England’s Under-19 international camp early because of a minor injury. Emerson, 16, is the younger brother of Ethan Nwaneri, who is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund. The first-year scholar plays for Arsenal’s Under-19 side and is regarded as a promising prospect. Arsenal host Leeds on Saturday, while their Under-21 team face Sunderland on the same day.
