Gabriel Jesus compares Barcelona star Lamine Yamal to Neymar

Barcelona forward Gabriel Jesus has compared team-mate Lamine Yamal to Brazilian legend Neymar, praising the teenager’s dribbling ability, personality and maturity. Speaking in comments reported by Barca Blaugranes, Jesus described Neymar as the most technically gifted player he had played alongside but acknowledged similarities between the former Barcelona star and Yamal.

The Brazilian also backed Yamal to win the Ballon d’Or, identifying the Spain international as his favourite for the award after an impressive year. Jesus praised the teenager’s continued development, calling him a genius who improves every season. Yamal, who idolised Neymar growing up, will now aim to maintain his form when Barcelona face Getafe.
