Tinubu’s Women Affairs minister accused of refusing airport security screening in Lagos
Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has been accused of refusing security screening at two checkpoints at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos before boarding a Turkish Airlines flight on October 6.
According to SaharaReporters, an unnamed foreign passenger alleged that the minister had a heated exchange with airport security officials while resisting screening.
“She arrogantly refused to be screened and got into heated exchange with the airport security officers,” the passenger said.
The source alleged that Sulaiman-Ibrahim subsequently passed through two checkpoints without submitting to the checks officials sought to conduct.
“She moved with so much authority that no one could stop her for a search,” the passenger added.
The passenger said the minister was later seen aboard the same Turkish Airlines flight.
FAAN says standard airport security procedures include baggage X-rays, metal-detection scans and access-control checks.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the minister’s response was not included in the report.
