Regina Daniels in wheelchair: Actress opens up on months of pain

She shared the news in an Instagram video posted on Saturday to mark her 25th birthday, while explaining her long absence from social media. The mother of two said what began as a minor health issue gradually worsened, leaving her struggling to move around and, at times, unable to walk.

“I know many of you may be surprised seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life. Let me walk you through what my life has been since many of you have asked questions about my absence,” she said.

Daniels said she has lost the freedom to move around as she pleases, adding that her condition took a major turn after her children’s day carnival, the last public gathering she hosted.

“The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I can walk, and sometimes I can’t move. I cried,” she added.

She expressed gratitude for the progress she has made, saying she is gradually getting better. She said her faith in God has remained a source of strength, and she spoke about the emotional toll of depending on others for everyday tasks.

Explaining why she chose to speak out, she said: “Well, me sitting here today, in front of this camera, sharing this with y’all, it’s because there’s been some really significant developments in my recovery. And I say, thank you, Lord.”

She added that she has moved closer to her loved ones, particularly her children.

Daniels married businessman and politician Ned Nwoko in 2019, and they have two children. Their marriage has since been marked by a public and contentious separation.
