Ex-Liverpool manager Arne Slot takes up new UEFA position

Former Liverpool manager Arne Slot has joined UEFA’s Technical Observer Group following his departure from Anfield at the end of last season. According to Liverpool.com, the Dutchman will work alongside former Liverpool managers Rafa Benitez and Roy Hodgson, as well as ex-England boss Gareth Southgate and former Everton manager Sean Dyche.

The group analyses European competitions, using statistics and video footage to produce technical reports on coaching trends and developments. Slot guided Liverpool to the Premier League title in his first season after joining from Feyenoord in 2024 but left following a disappointing title defence. The 47-year-old has ruled out pursuing the Netherlands national team job, insisting he prefers daily involvement in club management.
