2027: Be prepared for war, Aisha Yesufu tells Peter Obi supporters
Socio-political activist Aisha Yesufu has urged supporters of Peter Obi to defend themselves against suspected political thugs ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
According to Daily Post, Yesufu, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), made the call in a video shared on her official X account.
Her remarks followed reported attacks on Obi’s supporters in Delta, Benue, Enugu and other states.
Yesufu accused security agencies of failing to protect citizens, insisting that opposition supporters must exercise their right to self-defence.
“Courtesy is not a strategy when you are fighting tyrants. It is as simple as that,” she said.
“If the Nigeria Police cannot protect you, you have to protect yourself. The constitution allows you to protect yourself.”
She further urged supporters not to initiate violence but to resist attacks.
“If they are coming to attack you, attack back. Make everybody understand that if they want peace, we all have to be prepared for war.”
