Ukraine says Starlink limits disrupt military operations as Russia intensifies strikes
Ukraine has accused Elon Musk’s SpaceX of imposing restrictions on Starlink satellite internet services, disrupting military operations as Russia intensifies attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
According to CNBC, presidential defence technology adviser Serhii Beskrestnov said Wednesday that SpaceX introduced speed limits on moving Starlink terminals without notifying Ukrainian forces.
The restrictions reportedly affect military terminals travelling above 160 kilometres per hour.
Beskrestnov suggested the measures were politically motivated, alleging possible involvement by President Donald Trump’s administration.
Meanwhile, Russian strikes overnight left at least 600,000 residents without electricity across Kyiv and Kharkiv, despite Trump’s proposed energy ceasefire.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported damage to 26 electricity facilities and four oil and gas installations.
“The strike was entirely deliberate and demonstrative in its scale – Russia has never before shown such ostentatious disrespect toward the United States,” Zelenskyy said.
He also disclosed that Ukraine received no advance warning of Russian ballistic missile launches for the second time this week.
SpaceX and the White House were contacted for comment.
