Five-star Barcelona sweep aside 10-man Real Betis in seven goal thriller

Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the season with a commanding 5–2 victory over Real Betis to extend their lead at the top of La Liga, according to BBC Sport.

Lamine Yamal opened the scoring with a stunning long-range strike before Valentin Gómez leveled for Betis. Rodri headed in his first Barcelona goal to restore the lead before half-time, followed by Gabriel Jesus tapping in a third shortly after the break.

Though Abde Ezzalzouli immediately pulled one back for Betis, their comeback hopes evaporated when Facundo Bernal was shown a straight red card for clashing with Yamal.

Exploiting the numerical advantage, Eric García and substitute Dani Olmo added late goals to wrap up the win. The victory marks 11 consecutive wins in all competitions for Hansi Flick’s side, placing them five points clear at the summit of La Liga.
