I don’t want anybody from Norway in US because I didn’t win Nobel Prize — Trump

United States President Donald Trump has declared that immigrants from Norway are unwelcome in America, citing his failure to win the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.

According to The Punch, Trump made the remarks during a political rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday.

“Frankly, Norway sucks. Norway has become a shithouse country, actually,” Trump said.

“I will welcome immigrants from Denmark but not from Norway because ‌I didn’t get the Nobel Prize, so I don’t want anybody from Norway.”

Trump, who has repeatedly claimed credit for ending eight wars, expressed disappointment over the Nobel Committee’s decision.

The 2026 Peace Prize was awarded to South African jurist Navi Pillay for advancing international law and accountability for war crimes.

Trump reportedly dismissed Pillay as “a woman that nobody ever heard of.”

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide responded that the Nobel Committee operates independently of the government.

However, there has been no official announcement restricting Norwegian immigration into the United States.
