APPLE iPhone Duo screen keeps cracking…
Apple’s long-awaited foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, is off to a rocky start, with early users complaining of cracked screens.
Reporting by TechCrunch said the phone was announced at this year’s Surprise and Shine event, where Apple promised it had finally gotten a notoriously tricky form factor right.
Bloomberg reports that early users have complained of screens cracking “after just hours or days of use.” Some say they heard a loud crunching noise before a crack appeared, while others reported display malfunctions.
404 Media also reported that early adopters are dealing with “big fat creases down the middle of the [$2,000] folding screen.”
Apple told Bloomberg it was “aware of an issue impacting the inner display on a small number of iPhone Duo units.” TechCrunch said it had reached out to the company for comment.
Many foldable phones released so far have suffered similar problems. Apple’s early complaints suggest it may not have solved the issue after all.
