Alexander brothers sentenced to 30 years each after sex trafficking conviction
Three brothers, two of them wealthy real-estate moguls, were sentenced to 30 years each in prison for drugging and raping dozens of women over the course of decades, BBC reports.
Tal Alexander, 40, and twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 39, were found guilty in March of using their wealth and social status to lure women to parties and luxury homes, where they sexually assaulted them.
On Tuesday, the New York court heard from 12 victims about the psychological trauma they endured, with many asking the judge to impose the maximum sentence of life in prison.
Prosecutor Elizabeth Espinosa said the brothers “honed their methods of luring women with the promise of luxury” and were “completely unmoved by the path of suffering they left behind.”
During the five-week trial, 11 women, including some who said they were minors at the time, testified that the brothers flew them to locations including Aspen and the Bahamas, where they were drugged before being assaulted.
Defence lawyers argued the brothers were “womanizers, but not sexual abusers,” pushing for a 15-year sentence instead.
Tal and Oren built their wealth selling luxury real estate at Douglas Elliman, later founding their own firm, Official, in 2022, while Alon worked at the family’s private security firm, Kent Security.
