The Federal Government has introduced guidelines for eligible vulnerable Nigerians to access a ₦50,000 cash grant under the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention, explaining that beneficiaries selected through verified identity records and the National Social Register will receive SMS notifications from designated payment providers, confirm participation and access their funds through mobile wallets, while warning that the programme is free, independent applications are prohibited, and recipients must never disclose banking passwords or security codes to fraudsters.

The Federal Government has outlined procedures for selected vulnerable Nigerians to receive ₦50,000 under its National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).

According to the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, as reported by Vanguard, beneficiaries will receive payments through designated mobile wallets, including ALAT, MoMo, NairaGram, OPay and Moniepoint.

Selected individuals will receive SMS notifications and must confirm participation before payment.

Their wallets will be linked to their phone numbers and National Identification Numbers, allowing withdrawals through banks or POS agents.

Beneficiaries are selected using verified identity records and the National Social Register.

The government emphasised that registration and participation are free, warning Nigerians against fraudsters requesting payments or sensitive banking information.

Recipients must never disclose their PINs, passwords or One-Time Passwords.

The intervention aims to cushion rising living costs among economically disadvantaged households.

Payments will be made in phases, and individuals cannot pay or independently apply to join the beneficiary list.
