9-year-old neighbor abducts 4-year-old boy in Kano

Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed the abduction of a 4-year-old boy, identified as Musa by a 9-year-old boy, Abubakar, at Dandishe in Dala Local Government area of the state. Narrating the incident on Saturday, Hisbah, in a statement by its spokesman, Lawan Fagge, said the disappearance of Musa prompted his parents to lodge complaint at the Dala Division of the command.

Musa’s parents, according to the spokesman, said their son was last seen being carried by Abubakar on his back, and since then all efforts to trace his whereabouts proved unsuccessful.

Mr Fagge said Abubakar was arrested alongside his parents when intelligence unit of the Hisbah launched investigation to unravel the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of the four-year old boy.

During interrogation, Abubakar claimed that he was asked to abduct Musa by one man and he since handed the boy over to him.

“When Abubakar was asked if he could recognize the man, he answered in affirmative and led the Hisbah personnel to one motor workshop at Kofar Ruwa and said the head of the workshop is the one who asked him to abduct the boy.

“When Hisbah started interrogating the workshop owner, who identified himself as Malam Uba Tofa, an ex soldier, said he didn’t know anything about the matter and had never seen Abubakar in his life.

“The Hisbah officials then realised that Abubakar was lying and was unable to tell the whereabouts of his abductee for up to four days,” Mr Fagge said in the statement.

As the investigation was ongoing, on the fifth day, Abubakar confessed to have abducted Musa and dumped him at one pit at Kofar Dawanau.

Abubakar then led the Hisbah personnel to where he dumped Musa but he was nowhere to be found.

However, following a thorough search, Musa was later found hale and hearty at the resident of the ward head of Kofar Dawanau.

On his part, the Director General of Hisbah, Aliyu Kibiya, charged the residents of Dandinshe to remain calm as the command would not relent in its efforts to do justice for the abducted boy and commitment to eradicate all forms of vices in the area and beyond.

Speaking, Abubakar’s father, Malam Abdullahi, commended hisbah officials for their dedication and commitment to rescue the boy, promising to be more vigilant to avoid future recurrence.

On his part, Malam Babangida, the father of Musa, expressed his gratitude to Allah for making it possible to reunite with his son alive.
