A mother-of-two primary school teacher who molested two boys aged 11 and 12, forced one pupil to put his hand down her trousers and held the other one’s head against her groin in a twisted case of abuse wept as she was jailed for three years today.
Paedophile Carol Ann White, 39, abused the two children while working at two different North Lanarkshire primary schools over a near two-year period.
A police probe began when officers discovered she had been texting a 12-year-old boy with special educational needs during the first Covid lockdown. Phones belonging to the pair were subsequently seized and analysed, revealing 1,185 messages had been exchanged over a three-week period.
White asked the boy to touch himself intimately over FaceTime, sent revealing pictures of herself and sent one photo captioned ‘C**kblock of the year goes to Covid-19‘.
In subsequent interviews with police, the boy told officers he had been kissed 50 times on the lips during a school trip to an outdoor activity centre. He also said White had groped him while watching Titanic and had forced his hand down the front of her trousers.
The investigation led police to a second boy, 11, who said White had kissed him on the lips in a school store cupboard.
White, of Uddingston, Lanarkshire, had denied two charges of engaging in sexual activity with the boys between August 2018 and May 2020, but was convicted by a jury after an hour of deliberations following a seven-day trial.
Today, the predator wept as she was jailed and placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.
Following the sentencing hearing, the mother of the 11-year-old boy said: ‘Concerns had been raised in the school about her being overly familiar with pupils but yet she was allowed to move on and target a vulnerable boy.
‘The whole thing is shocking and I feel as if I’ve had no support for the last two years.’
White’s lawyer Graham Robertson said this morning: ‘Even as of today’s date, Ms White is consistent with her position and she has always denied the overtly sexual nature of the charges.
‘There has been a massive breach of trust and she knows that.’
Following the verdict, it was disclosed that White had earlier admitted being in possession of eight indecent images of the 12-year-old boy.
A text sent by White to the boy following one picture said: ‘You clearly don’t need me to help, someone else must have made you horny.’
