Woman found dead at home on NY Eve pictured as man quizzed over suspected murder

A woman who was found dead at her home on New Year’s Eve has been pictured for the first time, as police quiz a man on suspicion of murder.

Stephanie Hansen, 39, has been pictured for the first time, after she was discovered with “serious injuries” at an address at 10.13am on Saturday.

Metropolitan Police are continuing to question a man on suspicion of her murder, a spokesperson confirmed.

The 39-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene in west London, despite the best efforts of paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

The family of Mrs Hansen have been informed about her death, and are being supported by specialist officers.

A special post-mortem examination is scheduled for Monday, January 2.

A 29-year-old man who was known to Mrs Hansen was arrested on suspicion of her murder and remains in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, has confirmed that cops are “not looking for any further suspects” regarding the case, but are urging the public to come forward with any information they may have.

DCI John said in full: “My thoughts are with Stephanie’s family.

“They have suffered an unimaginable loss and we will give them every support.

“I know that this incident will have shocked people in the local community.

“While our investigation is still in its initial stages, I am confident that we are not looking for any further suspects and that there is no continuing risk to residents or the wider public…
