Kogi state foils theft: 53 stolen transformers intercepted en route to Lagos

Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, expressed appreciation to security agencies in the state for their role in recovering 53 stolen transformers from the National Integrated Power Project facility. He lauded their commitment to duty, describing their efforts as commendable.

In a statement issued by his media adviser, Ismaila Isah, Ododo stated, “The recent interception of 53 electrical transformers intended for electrification projects across the state is timely and praiseworthy. Even more satisfying is the subsequent apprehension of members of the criminal gang responsible for this act, signaling progress in the fight against crime in our state.”

According to Ododo, the transformers were stolen from the National Integrated Power Project facility and were intercepted in Obajana while en route to Lagos State. He emphasized that the recovery of these transformers, now safely stored at an Abuja Electricity Distribution Company facility in the state, would prevent disruptions in supplying power to various communities.
