New Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has placed RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara on his transfer wish list ahead of the January window.

It has been suggested that Rangnick will be given £100million to spend in 2022, with the German eyeing potential targets he would like to sign in order to bolster his squad.

And Haidara, who played under the 63-year-old during his time as Leipzig manager during 2018-19, is one of the names on that shortlist.

The 23-year-old has attracted attention from a number of clubs this season and Rangnick is a big fan of his former player.

Who is Amadou Haidara?

Haidara plays as a midfielder for German side RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga and the Mali international team.

The 23-year-old was born in Bamako, Mali and began his youth career with JMG Academy Bamako before being snapped up by Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in July 2016.

After being sent out on loan to Austrian second division side Liefering during the 2016-17 season and making 25 appearances, Haidara was thrown straight into the Salzburg first team in 2017-18 and helped them to win the Austrian Bundesliga and made 55 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals.

The 2018-19 season brought a further 21 appearances in all competitions, before RB Leipzig snapped him up in December 2018 and he played 12 times over the course of the rest of the season for his new side.
