Four times Aubameyang has faced Arsenal punishment for 'disciplinary' breaches

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in the bad books with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta again after being guilty of a “disciplinary breach” this week. The Gabon international has been woefully out of form in recent weeks having failed to score in his last six Premier League matches.

Aubameyang was subsequently dropped for Monday’s 2-1 defeat to Everton, coming off the bench late in the second half.

He was expected to return to the starting line-up on Saturday against Southampton with Arteta recently giving his skipper support to turn around his form.

But Arteta’s patience may have already run out after Aubameyang was left out of the matchday squad altogether for the game at the Emirates.

When asked to give a reason for Aubameyang’s absence, Arteta said: “Unfortunately due to a disciplinary breach.

“We’ve been very consistent that there are certain non-negotiables in the team that we have set ourselves, and as a club, and he’s not involved today.”

He added: “It starts today. But certainly it’s not an easy situation, a situation that we want to have our club captain in.”

It’s not clear when Aubameyang will return to the line-up, but it raises further questions on his future at the club…
