Mudryk has cheeky response to Zinchenko weeks after rejecting Arsenal for Chelsea

Mykhailo Mudryk told Ukraine teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko ‘London is blue’ after turning down Arsenal for Chelsea.

The zippy winger signed for the Blues in January in a deal that could rise to £88million from Shakhtar Donetsk despite long-held interest from Arsenal.

For weeks, it looked like Mudryk would make his way to the Emirates Stadium and join up with compatriot Zinchenko at Arsenal.

But Chelsea blew their London rivals out of the water and the forward joined Graham Potter’s team instead, while Zinchenko insisted he did not resent his international pal for the move.

And Mudryk has since responded when asked what colour London is, replying: “Blue.”

But there is no ill feeling between the two, as Mudryk added: “He helped me a lot.

“I like him so much. We often joke about Arsenal, Chelsea and what colour is London.

“But I like this guy, he’s very funny, very kind guy. We spend some time with him and always in positive vibes.”

Zinchenko had said earlier this week to the Daily Mail: “I told him: “It’s gone already, it doesn’t matter what you wanted, what the other guys wanted.

“Now you’re a Chelsea player, you signed a long-term contract and you have only one option, only one way, direct and forward.

“Unfortunately he didn’t become an Arsenal player – as I wanted personally! – but it’s life.”
