Newcastle United are said to have enquired about AFC Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke, which could land Liverpool a chunk of any potential sale.

According to Mike McGrath of the Telegraph, the Magpies have approached the Cherries, enquiring over the 26-year-old services. Solanke has found form at the Vitality Stadium scoring 12 goals in 19 matches for Andoni Iraola’s side.

It has been claimed that Eddie Howe is looking to strengthen his strikeforce this month as the North East side weather the injury issues that have plagued his selection options this season. Alexander Isak has enjoyed a goalscoring return following his record move to St James’ Park in the summer of 2023 but strike partner Callum Wilson is set for a period on the sidelines.

Sources have told the ECHO that former sporting director Michael Edwards was key to negotiating two clauses in the move from Liverpool to Bournemouth, one being a buyback clause and the other a 20% sell-on clause.
