Liverpool are considering a transfer for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi as they seek their first signing under new manager Arne Slot.
Zubimendi, who was part of Spain’s Euro 2024-winning squad, came off the bench in the second half for Manchester City’s Rodri during their 2-1 victory over England in the final.
The 25-year-old has been with Sociedad since 2011 and has a release clause set at €60 million (£51.5 million).
Last season, Zubimendi contributed to Sociedad’s sixth-place finish in La Liga, scoring four goals in 31 league appearances. The Spanish club also advanced to the last 16 of the Champions League in 2023-24 before being eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain.
If signed, Zubimendi would be the first addition under Slot, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
