Liverpool supporters will love what Diogo Jota said about Arne Slot after Sevilla win

Diogo Jota has revealed that Liverpool’s new coach, Arne Slot, has high expectations for his players, even after their 4-1 victory over Sevilla on Sunday. Despite goals from Jota himself, a brace from Luis Diaz, and a goal from Trey Nyoni securing a decisive win in Slot’s debut match at Anfield, the Dutchman wasn’t entirely satisfied.

Jota, who scored and assisted in the game, stood out in the match against the Spanish side, which served as preparation for next weekend’s Premier League opener away at Ipswich Town.

After the game, Jota provided a glimpse into the Anfield dressing room and life under Slot, sharing the coach’s post-match feedback.

“We worked hard today; it was sunny and very hot,” Jota said. “Some of us played the full 90 minutes, so it was a good step in our preparation.

“Winning is always good, and although we conceded a goal, it was a strong overall performance.

“With a new coach, everyone needs to adjust, and I think we’re doing well. He is demanding.

“Even after a 4-1 win, he pointed out areas for improvement. That’s the way forward. We’ve played well in pre-season, but we all know the real test starts next week.”
