Man United winger Antony is ‘cleared of assault and threatening his ex-girlfriend in Brazil’ following lengthy investigation

According to reports, Brazilian police have cleared Manchester United winger Antony of domestic violence allegations made by his ex-girlfriend. The 24-year-old was accused by Gabriela Cavallin, a DJ, of various offenses, including assault, threats, and abuse. The Sao Paulo police department conducted an investigation, which has now been closed due to insufficient evidence, as reported by Globo.com.

Cavallin went public with her accusations in May 2023, appearing on Brazilian channel TV Record, where she detailed instances of alleged abuse, claiming Antony had physically assaulted her in the previous year. She described being kicked, grabbed by the hair, and suffering a head injury, which dislodged her silicone implant, leaving her struggling to breathe.

She also alleged that Antony had kept her confined in their home, breaking her suitcase, phone, and passport, and preventing her from leaving. She described the ordeal as “private captivity,” claiming it lasted for several hours.

Antony responded to the accusations, denying any wrongdoing in a statement on Instagram. He mentioned that he had remained silent during the investigation but insisted that both he and his family had suffered greatly throughout the ordeal.
