Mercy Aigbe, the Nigerian actress, has announced her conversion to Islam and adopted a new name.
The movie star spoke about her new faith at a Ramadan lecture and special prayer hosted by Kazeem Adeoti, her husband.
“Inshallah my new name is Hajiya Minnah Mercy Adeoti,” she said.

In January 2022, Mercy unveiled Kazeem as her husband.
Shortly after the unveiling, the actress was in the public eye after Kazeem’s first wife accused her of snatching her husband.
Kazeem, however, defended his decision to marry a second wife.
He said Islam permits polygamy as long as the husband can take care of his wives and does not maltreat them.
