Popular South African Afro-pop star, Bulelwa Mkutukana, popularly known as Zahara, has passed away at age 36.
Zahara, who was in her late 30s died in a Johannesburg hospital on Monday night.
Her death was made known on Tuesday, December 12, in a post shared on her Instagram page by her family.
Reacting to her death, the South African Minister of Sports, Arts, and Culture, Zizi Kodwa, in a post on his official X, wrote: “I’m very saddened by the passing of @ZaharaSA. My deepest condolences to the Mkutukana family and the South African music industry.
