FG quietly begins implementation of Steve Oronsaye Report

The Federal Government has begun implementing the Steve Oronsaye Report on restructuring government agencies and departments, despite the expiration of the 12-week deadline set by President Bola Tinubu.

A memo signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has directed ministers to dissolve affected firms within 30 days.

The Nigerian Films and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) is one of the affected firms and will be integrated as a department within the Ministry of Art, Culture & Creative Economy, instead of operating as a separate federal.

The ministry is expected to issue a report on the transition of the NFVCB within the first month of becoming a department, with the scrapping feedback to be made to the SGF within 30 days.
