The Federal Government has taken a momentous leap forward, as the House of Representatives passed an amended budget bill increasing the total budget allocation from N28.7 trillion to N35.5 trillion.
In a landmark move, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier urged the National Assembly to add N6.2 trillion to the existing 2024 budget for Renewed Hope infrastructure projects, citing Section 58 of the Nigerian Constitution as justification.
The House’s approval of the increase by N600bn, while less than initially requested, nonetheless signals a significant investment in crucial national infrastructure and progress.
