CAC to delist Dangote Fisheries, 91,193 others

Dangote Fisheries Company Ltd. and 91,193 others may soon be permanently delisted from the register of companies by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

The CAC revealed this in a public notice issued on Wednesday.

“This is to inform the general public that the commission pursuant to its powers contained in Section 692 (3) (4) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act No. 3 2020, intend to strike off from the register, names of defunct or dormant companies that have not filed annual returns for a period of ten years,” the notice read in part.

The agency had given the non-compliant companies 30 days to respond to a strike-off notice.

Aliko Dangote, the president of the Dangote Group, and the late Sani Gote, a former vice president of the group, are the two directors on the publicly available profile of Dangote Fisheries, which became a legal entity on June 7, 1985.

Dangote Group operates a list of investment portfolios that cut across cement, oil and gas, sugar, fertiliser, rice, salt, and fisheries, among others. Not much is known about the fishery company, however
