The Supreme Court has affirmed the judgement of the Court of Appeal which okayed the deregistration of the National Unity Party (NUP) and others.
In a lead judgement delivered by justice Adamu Jauro, in the INEC vs Political Parties, the court held that Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) did not err in law in the deregistration of the National Unity Party, which filed the appeal.
INEC had last year deregistered 74 parties over failure to win any election during the 2019 general election.
