Abidemi Rufai, suspended aide to Ogun governor, indicted for ‘$350k fraud’ in US

Abidemi Rufai, a senior special assistant to Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun, has been indicted for alleged conspiracy, wire fraud, and aggravated identity theft.

Rufai was arrested at the JFK airport in New York on May 14 over alleged $350,000 unemployment benefits fraud.

A criminal complaint was filed against Rufai for allegedly stealing over $350,000 in unemployment benefits from the Washington State employment security department (ESD).
