Sowore Shows Support, Joins Students’ Protest At Lagos Airport

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (ADC), Omoyele Sowore has joined Nigerian students to protest the continuous strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) had earlier announced its intention to shut down all international airports due to the failure of the Federal Government to meet ASUU’s demand.

The students on Monday, prevented normal activities by blocking the road leading to the International Airport in Lagos before heading for the airport itself in continuation of their protest.

Fulfilling their threat, the students, who defied the heavy downpour, blocked the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway to protest the indefinite ASUU strike which has lingered for seven months.

In a show of solidarity, the ADC Presidential candidate also joined the students.

While at the protest, Sowore  said it was important for the students to intensify their action saying, “this is your struggle.”
