Tinuade Ladoja, one of the wives of the former governor of Oyo State is dead.
According to sources close to her family, the wife of Otun of Olubadan in Ibadanland, Rasheed Ladoja, died in the early hours of Monday after a brief illness.
Until her death, she was said to be an influential Member of the Pastor in Council (MPIC)of the Celestial Church of Christ,which is said to be the highest decision-making body of the church.
In a Facebook post, Celestial Church of Christ, Ikeja Parish 1 Cathedral, the parish she attended before her death wrote: “It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
We submit to his will #farewell.”
In a chat with the Head of the Media unit of the parish, Olukoya Benjamin, he said: “Two days ago, she had some feelings and was taken to hospital, they said she still ate yesterday before she gave the ghost earlier this morning.
She was a strong member of the women in council. She was appreciated with an award recently at their 40th anniversary.”
Although the exact cause of her death could not be confirmed as of the time of filing this report, top members of her church are already mourning. Victoria Omodudu is the Chairperson of the Celestial Church Christ Women Council.
In a WhatsApp group, True Celestial Group, comprising top members of the church, she wrote: “Aunty mi, Egbon mi, eyi ga ju agbara mi lo. I was at your place on Saturday, 5th October, 2024. You were hale and hearty. Jo o, Olorun .”
Dr Ade Tinubu, President Bola Tinubu’s personal physician, wrote: ” May her soul rest in peace.”
Dr Atinuke Abioro wrote: “My respectful wife and sister. You will be sorely missed. You sent the package of Ikeja 1 IV to me and we discussed at length not knowing that you would have joined your Maker before then. Our faith teaches us to believe that to die in Christ is a gain. Rest in 
perfect peace. May the Good Lord console your children and the family. You were 
loved.”
Also, the Head, Celestial Church Media and Publicity, Kayode Ajala, posted on the official website of the church: ” With gratitude to God for a purposeful life well spent in His vineyard, but with hearts throbbing with pain at our sudden loss, we announce the transition to higher glory of Mother Celestial Tinuade Ladoja, a prominent and devoted member of the Celestial Church of Christ.
This sad event occurred earlier today after a brief illness. She was aged 71.
We await further announcements by her family. May her wonderful soul rest in perfect peace.
