A mobile policeman has been reportedly shot dead along the popular Airport Road in the twin-cities of Effurun and Warri, Delta State.
It was gathered that the officer was shot by fleeing armed gunmen this afternoon.
Eyewitness account reveals that the policeman died on the spot while the suspects reportedly fled with his service rifle.
This latest killing is coming just four days after some bandits killed two operatives of joint security outfit ‘Operation Delta Safe’ in Asaba, the state capital.
In a related development, another mobile policeman on escort duty was killed at a Church in Ughelli north local government area on Sunday with his service rifle also carted away by the gunmen.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the latest killing and the previous ones.
