Mark Zuckerberg put Nick Clegg in charge of handling Donald Trump’s Facebook ban

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg put Nick Clegg in charge of handling Donald Trump’s ban from the social media site.

The former Lib Dem leader, who has been Facebook’s head of global affairs since 2018, will reportedly lead the decision-making process on whether to reinstate the former US President’s social media account.

Mr Trump was banned from Facebook and sister site Instagram in January in the midst of the Capitol Hill riot – in which his supporters stormed the Congress building demanding his election defeat be overturned.

Five people – including one police officer – died in the attack.
