Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Niger State plans skill acquisition for widows of fallen heroes

The Niger State government in North Central Nigeria has set up plans to enroll widows of slain military personnel and other security agencies into skills acquisition programme to make them self-reliant.

The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello stated this during the match pass and symbolic wreath laying marking the 2022 Armed Forces remembrance day on Saturday in Minna, the state capital.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello further advised security agencies in the state and other parts of the country to remain resolute in their efforts to end the security challenges bedeviling parts of the country.

The Governor who commended Officers and Men of the Nigeria Armed Forces and other security agencies for their tireless efforts in dealing with insurgency and criminal elements, urged them to continue to protect the integrity of the nation.

The Governor who further reiterated the commitment of his administration in supporting the security agencies towards ending insecurity, also acknowledged that the country has lost fine men and women of the armed forces in the line of duty which is why they are being remembered today, pointing out that their efforts will not be forgotten.

“My call is on the military to remain resolute. Today is a special day where we come to remember our fallen heroes that have lost their lives in wars and in the course of their assignments”, said Governor Sani Bello.
