Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed Thursday that President Joe Biden was uniquely qualified to handle the question of gun reform moving forward – citing his decades of experience in Washington working to combat gun violence — but New York Times White House correspondent Michael Shear objected.
Shear pressed Jean-Pierre for specifics as he noted that, in spite of Biden’s years of work, the problem of gun violence did not seem to be getting any better.
