Uncovered billions: Probe Defence procurement corruption, CISLAC, TI urge Buhari


The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre and Transparency International have urged the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to spare no effort in probing alleged corruption and diversion of funds through Defence procurement and spending.

The CISLAC Executive Director and Head of Transparency International in Nigeria, Auwal Ibrahim Musa, made the call in a statement titled, ‘Uncovered Billions: CISLAC reiterates worries over unattended corruption in Defence procurement’.

Musa, known better as Rafsanjani, noted that the probe had become imperative following the billions of Naira cash alongside other luxurious items reportedly uncovered during a recent raid at the home of a military contractor, K. Salam Construction Company, by Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission in Abuja.

According to him, the fact-finding as detected by the anti-graft institution has validated the persistent public outcry by CISLAC/TI Nigeria for transparency…
