Teletubbies stars now – accidental death, EastEnders fame and £1.5m net worth

Teletubbies is known for its cute characters and their cheeky antics – but the stars behind the costumes haven’t all led such rosy lives.

A new memoir about hit children’s BBC TV series The Teletubbies has been released, promising to lift the lid on all the behind the scenes shenanigans.

Nikky Smedley, who played Laa-Laa in the original series from 1997 to 2001, has written the book called My Life As A Teletubby.

Along with Simon Shelton, John Simmit, Pui Fan Lee and The Sun Baby Jessica Smith, Nikky delighted generations of fans, and the show even spawned a number one hit single.

The series has since been rebooted, and many fans are probably wondering what the original cast are up to.
