Tinubu returns to Abuja from COP28

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday returned to Abuja after participating in United Nations Climate Conference, the Conference of Parties (COP28) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The president, who spent about six days in the Emirati city, arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on return, at about 6:45pm.

Among his engagements was the COP28) summit on methane and other non-greenhouse gases where he insisted that Nigeria is determined to end gas flaring to eliminate greenhouse emissions.

The President shared the platform with the President of COP28, Dr. Sultan Ahmed al-Jabar; the United States Special Envoy on Climate, John Kerry, and the Chinese Envoy on Climate, Xie Zhenhue.

Tinubu witnessed the signing of an accelerated performance agreement aimed at expediting the implementation of the 12,000 megawatts Presidential Power Initiative (PPI), to improve electricity supply in Nigeria.
