The Lagos State Government has announced that it would shut Bourdillon Road in Ikoyi for two days for construction of work.

A statement issued by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi on Thursday said the government would be diverting vehicular traffic away from Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi between 9:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday 24th August and 9:00am to 12:00 noon on Sunday 25th August, 2024.

He said in the light of this diversion, an alternative route had been mapped out for motorists plying the corridor.

Osiyemi said motorists on Bourdillon Road heading towards Falomo Roundabout were advised to turn right at Lateef Jakande Road to Onisiwo inwards Oniru Road to link Thompson Avenue Roundabout into Thompson Avenue and make a right turn into Bourdillon again to proceed with their journeys.

However, the Commissioner explained that motorists on the lane inbound Alexander Avenue from Falomo Roundabout would not be affected by the diversion.

He assured that the diversion would be managed by the Lagos State’s Traffic Management Personnel, urging Motorists to cooperate with the interventions put in place.
